Meaning

It’s about the money
— and more.

Compensation is a statement of your value.

And you’re likely worth more than you know.

Nearly all of us tend to underestimate ourselves.

A strong compensation package frees you up
to maximize your growth potential.

When you’re giving all you’re capable of,
and you’re rewarded well, you feel
satisfied and empowered.

My Experience

Before I became an executive compensation coach, I was an executive recruiter (aka a “headhunter”) for 20 years.

I brokered hundreds of executive compensation deals and was privy to thousands. I represented multiple parties in complex negotiations. I worked closely with company Human Resources personnel and Chief Executive Officers, as well as new recruits. I did this day in and day out. I was fair and evenhanded in these negotiations, and I learned a lot!

And now, I’m working strictly from your corner!

I understand the positions and strategies that parties and counterparties take in compensation negotiations.

I have witnessed the sausage-making process time and again, which results in how people are (or are not) awarded raises, promotions, equity, bonuses, and more.

And here’s a fact. Such decisions are not always merit-based. They have a lot to do with how you play your hand.

I’m the guy who can help you play your hand well.

Success Plan

The acronym I apply to goals is SMART:

Goals should be Specific, Measurable, Accountable, Realistic, and Time-bound.

Money is important. As a compensation coach, I focus on helping you optimize your compensation package. But there is more to goal-setting than just going for the highest salary, biggest bonus, and most equity.

Do you feel valued for your work? Does it feel meaningful? Do you trust your company’s leadership? Do you resonate with your company’s mission?

How do you feel about your coworkers, your boss, your working environment? How is your work impacting your health? Do you have work-related stress every day?

As we answer these questions, we establish SMART goals. Then we accomplish them.
